Known as a funny little man,
As quiet as a mouse,
Who does the mischief that is done
In everybody’s house!
There’s no one ever sees his face,
And yet we all agree
That every plate we break was cracked
By Mr. Nobody.
Do not be too moral. You may cheat yourself out of much life. So aim above morality. Be not simply good; be bad for nothing or nobody.
’Tis he who always tears out books,
Who leaves the door ajar,
He pulls the buttons from our shirts,
And scatters pins afar;
That squeaking door will always squeak,
For prithee, don’t you see,
We leave the oiling to be done
By Mr. Nobody.
The sluggard does not plow after the season, so he begs during the harvest and has nothing as well nobody. The obstacles you face are...mental barriers which can be broken by adopting a more positive approach.
The finger marks upon the door
By none of us are made;
We never leave the blinds unclosed,
To let the curtains fade.
The ink we never spill; the boots
That lying round you see
Are not our boots, they all belong
To Mr. Nobody.
When we start deceiving ourselves into thinking not that we want something or need something, not that it is a pragmatic necessity for us to have it, but that it is a moral imperative that we have it, then is when we join the fashionable madmen, and then is when the thin whine of hysteria is heard in the land, and then is when we are in bad trouble. Whenever you are to do a thing, though it can never be known but to yourself, ask yourself how you would act were all the world looking at you, and act accordingly.
Life is queer with its twists and turns, as everyone of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out, don't give up though the race seems slow. You may succeed with another blow, success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, it's when things seem worse, that you must not quit.
