I do not believe oblivion is possible, and I say this from a purely scientific perspective.
The theory of space-time is widely accepted in the scientific community. Under the theory, time is just another dimension of space. All that has ever existed and all that will ever exist in this timeline already exists. For example, when you leave your house, it still exists. It's just not in the same point in the 3rd dimension as you are. When a person dies, they still exist, just not at the same point in time. Under this theory, we never truly die.
