Passions are vices or virtues to their highest powers, a man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them, simple knowing how to use alcohol or any other drug isn't good enough, to acquire the means of retrieving control when they take over, that's knowledge we'll cherished.
What would you do? Anticipating coma, cardiac arrest, head rocking hangovers, shame of pooing, peeing and puking all over places and people.
Many things about our bodies would not seem to us so filthy and obscene if we did not have the idea of nobility in our heads. What about self afflicted shame upon our bodies, In order to live a fully human life we require not only control of our bodies (though control is a prerequisite); we must touch the unity and resonance of our physicality, our bond with the natural order, the corporeal grounds of our intelligence.
Alcohol not that I hate thee but I presume thine respect and graciousness be ratified for thine is bonafide yet sometimes, somehow always misused.
Alcohol is the most common drug that leads people to throw their friends in the shower or force feed them coffee. Be the nut heads or wanna be first aiders, he who the cup fits let him fuss about it.
The body is a community made up of its innumerable cells or inhabitants and the soul is wholly solely, the body and the soul keep, the one, holy. Doing whatever pleases the body does not remove your halo but overdose disgraces the soul and tips the body over it's limits. Why do we spend years using up our bodies to nurture our minds with experience and find our minds turning then to our exhausted bodies for solace?
Time is the only thing that will sober up a drunk person. Coffee, showers, exercise, sweating it out, fresh air, or any other method will not increase the rate at which alcohol is eliminated from the body. The liver just needs the time to metabolize the alcohol.
Caution has its place, no doubt, but we cannot refuse our support to a serious venture which challenges the whole of the personality. If we oppose it, we are trying to suppress what is best in man --his daring and his aspirations. And should we succeed, do we not take away the pleasures that keeps us tipsy?
As for other, more hardcore drugs, the coffee won’t help, but keeping someone awake until help arrives could be a lifesaver, in my job world I describe such conditions as keeping the person comfortable and till paramedics arrive.
Heroin and other opiates cause you to stop breathing, and this leads to cardiac arrest. Remember, coffee is only a temporary measure and medical help should be sought for any drug overdose. If someone stops breathing, you should begin CPR. The shower is probably unnecessary, and a big waste of precious time.
He that is over cautious will accomplish little. Watch what you take or do and don't dance on a volcano.
